It looks like my loved ones who have died (really just passed-on) have found a new way to contact me.
The telephone!
My mother-in-law, Virginia, just called me in my sleep this morning. (Call it a dream if you wish.)
I answered, “Hello?”
She answered with enthusiasm, “Geez, I got you!”
“Virginia!” I said.
She came right back with, “I haven’t talked with you in So Long! I miss you.”
“I miss you too!” I answered.
“I love you.” Her voice rushed.
“I love you, too.”
I realized I was talking with my deceased mother-in-law and just like that, the line went all fuzzy. I could hear her voice but it was all broken up by the static.
“Virginia!” I shouted into the phone.
Nothing but static.
The time is always short on these visits. But, we did experience this one more opportunity to tell each other that we loved them.
Thank you, God, thank you. Amen
